In mid-April this year when a major fire broke out in NeML’s Data Centre in Mumbai, operations in agri commodities had to be suspended temporarily. This posed a challenge to NeML leaving them with two options:
Seeking better solutions for effectively serving the needy and vulnerable sections of the society, like young children and Smallholder Farmers (SHF), through various food policy initiatives like Mid-day Meal Schemes and Public Distribution System (PDS), Shri Saryu Rai – Hon. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Govt. of Jharkhand paid a visit to NeML’s Head Office in Mumbai.
The Indian Council of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) held it’s 10th Global Agriculture Leadership Summit, 2017 on the 5th and 6th September at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave, New Delhi.
The summit’s theme ‘From Agriculture To Agribusiness’ provided a platform to key influencers from the Government, Industry Experts like NCDEX e Markets Ltd. (NeML), Farmers Leaders and others to discuss emerging opportunities for a global momentum towards making agriculture high-tech, market linked and value added for enhancing farmers’ income and benefit all stakeholders across the food value chain.
The event was graced by Shri Suresh Prabhu – Hon. Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Parshottam Rupala – Hon. Minister of State for Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Panchayati Raj, Prof. MS Swaminathan – popularly known as the Father of India’s Green Revolution, Ambassador Kenneth Quinn – President, World Food Prize Foundation and Dr. MJ Khan – Chairman, ICFA.
